Dress- Up or Disaster?

Homecoming season is upon us yet again, and school obligations combined with preparation for the big week leaves us all with busy agendas. How we are expected to find dates, make reservations, form groups, order flowers, buy our designated attire, AND complete copious amounts of homework is beyond me.
Dress shopping can be intimidating, even for the most nonchalant of shoppers, but the purchase of a dress for an event this special should be equally as memorable as the rest of the festivities. The process doesn’t have to be stressful, and definitely should not tax your self-esteem. Just the effort and commitment that individuals put into their Homecoming attire makes for a beautiful outcome each and every time!
Camille La Vie is a high school girl’s heaven! Located in the Tri- County Mall, just a twenty minute drive from SHS, this unique dress store gives shoppers the luxury of experimenting with diverse dress styles. Discovering the perfect dress delivers one the ultimate feeling of satisfaction, and at Camille La Vie they make that success achievable.
Venturing out to Tri- County, with the help of some fellow SHS students, affirmed that the selection of dresses available to students, who are shopping on a realistic budget, is vast! I inquired of Camille La Vie’s store manager, Lisa, how she provides girls, every year, with not just a dress but a gratifying experience. “Shopping for a dress can make any high school girl question their own sense of confidence. But, if they remain true to their personal style and allow their dress to epitomize what it is that they love about their personality then they will always be pleased with the result, and look fabulous regardless,” Lisa proudly advised me.
Fellow Aviators and I “test drove” select dresses. We discussed finding the appropriate dress for our body shapes and still appeasing our personal senses of style. Not one dress that any of us tried on exceeded a budget of $200.00 and they were all featured in Camille La Vie’s premiere line of 2012 Homecoming Dresses. Should you, as a reader, wish to get your hands on any of the dresses we “oohed and aahed” over you can visit the ladies at Camille La Vie!
Remember, regardless of the attire you choose, Homecoming is a special event that commemorates the return of SHS alumni! The spirit week, the Homecoming game, the pep rally, and the dance itself all serve to bring SHS together to cheer on our Aviators in a spectacular, unforgettable way! So find your dresses ladies… but don’t forget to HAVE FUN!

Halley Bell, 12: Halley glows in a sweeping one- shoulder, embezzled white frock. The sheer material, the silk underlay, and the crystals adorning the neckline make this dress the perfect combination of sassy and sweet.

Halley captivates the attention of everyone in the room in this bejeweled, black, empire waist dress. The volume of the skirt defines and flatters every figure, meanwhile the large reflective crystals give the dress an undeniable touch of glamour.

Maddie Garrett, 11: Maddie is stunning in this one- shoulder, fitted, navy, bandage dress. The delicate stones on the shoulder compliment the lace pattern of the dress.

Maddie loved this black, cinched- waist dress. Jeweled shoulder pads, the sheer neckline, and the ribbed skirt make this dress a sophisticated, yet still youthfully pretty piece.

Cherish Haruyama, 9: Cherish's favorite color is red! She loved this mixed- length, strapless dress. The bedazzled, gathered waist is very flattering. This dress has tons of character and immediately catches the eye of everyone in a room!

Cherish rocked this adorable sweetheart dress, with lace overlay, and a tool skirt. The youthful nature of this dress is played up by the fitted waistline and high neckline. The dress is covered in lace, and you can never go wrong with lace!
